Katie Marshall is a nonprofit professional working at the intersection of art and community development. She has been the Executive Director at MacRostie Art Center (MAC) since 2011, a nonprofit visual arts center serving northern Minnesota. In that role she has led the MAC through significant expansion in programming, funding, and partnerships, and reinforced the organization’s role as a hub of a vibrant and growing creative community.
Katie served as the chair of the national Rural Arts and Culture Summit local planning committee in 2019, and has served on the Board of Directors for several organizations supporting community health and the arts, including Advocates for Family Peace, Grand Rapids Area NAMI, the Itasca Orchestra and Strings Program, and Grand Rapids Arts. She is passionate about the equitable distribution of arts funding, and in her free time writes grants for artists and volunteers as a grant reviewer for the Minnesota State Arts Board and Arrowhead Regional Arts Council.
