Irina Mueller
Violinist Irina Mueller regularly performs with her fiancé, Nick Murdick (French horn and
Alphorn), in duo and chamber music collaborations. Solo recitals have taken her throughout the United States and Germany, and as an orchestral musician she has toured Europe and Japan.
She has appeared as soloist with orchestras, performing the Brahms Violin Concerto in
Germany and Romania.
Irina was previously a member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, where she was Acting
Assistant Concertmaster for several years. She has been Co-Concertmaster of the Great Falls
Symphony, Interim Concertmaster of the Muncie Symphony, and guest concertmaster with
numerous orchestras. She has served as adjunct faculty at Ball State University, Taylor
University, and the University of Great Falls. Irina has also taught at the Goppisberger Music
Festival and Academy in Switzerland.
Irina received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees and an Arts Leadership Certificate
from the Eastman School of Music. She has been awarded a Soloist’s Diploma by the Staatliche
Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany, and she received a Doctor of Arts degree from
Ball State University. Principal teachers have included David Russell, Lynn Blakeslee, and
Winfried Rademacher.
Irina has recently joined the Itasca Orchestra Strings Program as Artist Faculty.
